The service is aimed at users, students, teachers, the general public, academics and enthusiasts in this field, offering historical and scientific information as well as guidance on best practice to be adopted in the event of natural disasters, thereby creating – through a network-based approach – a cohesive community focused on prevention.
The exhibition has been organised to improve access to the CGIAM’s heritage, understood as a cultural venue with strong links to the local area and the communities it serves. Therefore, whilst the exhibition is designed to permanently enrich the Centre, it has been conceived so that it can, if necessary, be moved or replicated in other cultural venues. Furthermore, the exhibition is in keeping with the Centre’s mission, its history, the bibliographic heritage preserved there, and the promotion of the research activities carried out over the years on the subject of seismic risk and natural disasters in general.
